SHEDDING A FEW EXTRA POUNDS BEFORE SUMMERTIME
Anxious to begin working off a few of the extra winter pounds, but don’t know where to start?

Here are a few tips to get you going.

CARDIO CARDIO CARDIO – You will not loose a pound unless you burn more calories than you consume. The best way to burn those calories (and keep your heart healthy) is through cardiovascular exercise. Now that the weather is warm, step away from the treadmill and take a walk or run outside. Try swimming or a dance class. As long as your heart rate remains in it’s fat burning zone (a personal trainer can help you determine your zone) you’re on the right track

  • Weight Train at least twice a week. Don’t be afraid of bulking up, women almost never do. The trick is do more reps at a lower weight. Lifting weights also helps maintain muscle mass and can prevent loss of bone density.
  • Last and certainly not least..Watch what you eat. There’s no sense in spending hours a week at the gym, only to undo all that you’ve done by eating poorly. Lean Protein, Fruits and Vegetables, good fats (omega-3),& complex carbohydrates should make up 90% of your diet. Use the other 10% on an occasional splurge. A girl’s gotta have a little chocolate sometimes!!
