Single in O7: The Good the Bad and the Ugly
With nearly 70% of African American women living single, it’ s no surprise that our relationship roundtable was one of the most successful so far.

Dr. Joyce, the Love Doctor and regular Cocoa Mode contributer, Sonja Williams share a few tips for single women looking for love.

  • Create a list of the important traits in a potential mate. In the case, size doesn’t matter, as long as your completely honest with yourself you can list 5 or 500 things that are important to you.
  • Be sure of what you have to offer to the relationship. There’s nothing worse than a woman with a list of 50 traits for a mate but not possess a single one.
  • Be Open. Love comes in all shapes and sizes and can hit you anywhere. You never know, the one for you could be right under your nose
  • You already have a Daddy, you don’t need another. It is unfair to expect your man to compete with your father; though he may exhibit certain qualities similar to that of your parent, your lover is his own man with his own way of doing things.
  • Be true to yourself. If you find yourself in a relationship that appears to be going nowhere, jump off before you get lost.
