Cocoa Mode Presents: The Story Behind the Movement.

In 2005 while on maternity leave, Shawna Renee noticing a void in Talk Radio programming created Cocoa Mode, a weekly program designed to meet the needs of African American women looking for a place to discuss the issues that mattered most in their community. For nine months Shawna Renee presented Cocoa Mode with the help of dozens of experts in various fields including health, finance and beauty on XM 169, The Power. In January, 2008, an internal restructuring of The Power left Shawna Renee without a radio home. She decided to use her time off the air to restructure Cocoa Mode in a way that would allow the millions of women around the world without Satellite Radio to benefit from the wealth of information presented on the show. With the help of a devoted team of “Cocoas” and the support of her family and friends, Shawna launched Cocoa Mode Presents... A network of on-air, on-line and in person programs and workshops designed to empower women to create the lives they deserve.
